I’m a Shark: Bob Shea’s AWESOME book trailer

I’m a Shark by Bob Shea was one of my favourite picture books in February.  If you or your children like books like Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus or the Elephant and Piggie books by Mo Willems, and There are Cats in this Book by Viviane Schwarz then you should definitely check out Bob Shea.

Michael Grant’s BZRK book trailer

Michael Grant is one of those authors that isn’t afraid to take chances.  His Gone series is gritty, violent and absolutely fantastic!  BZRK is the first book in his new series and Michael says ‘you’ve never read anything like it.’

The One and Only Ivan book trailer

The One and Only Ivan is the beautiful new book by Katherine Applegate.  It’s due out in New Zealand in February and I’m reading it at the moment.  I’ve fallen in love with Ivan and his friends and am trying to make the story last as I don’t want it to end.

The Extinction Gambit book trailer

One of my favourite Australian authors, Michael Pryor will be joining me on the blog tomorrow to talk about his new book, The Extinction Gambit, the first in his new series, The Extraordinaires.  I’m a huge fan of his Laws of Magic series (great mix of fantasy, history and political intrigue for kids/teens) so I’m eager to get my hands on a copy of The Extinction Gambit (due out December 1st).  To whet your appetite here is a book trailer for it that Michael himself produced.

Across the Universe – hottest YA of 2011

Across the Universe by Beth Revis is going to be one of the hottest YA novels of 2011.  I absolutely loved it and will be posting my review as soon as the book is published in NZ on 4 January.  If you’re anticipating its release or want to know more about it, check out this fantastic book trailer:

It has something for everyone – a dystopian society, science fiction, mystery, murder and a touch of romance.

Check out Beth Revis’s website for more info.
